Patient Information

Registration with Staffa Health entitles you to the services within all four practices. If you would like to register please ask our staff on reception to provide you with the necessary documents.

Named GP at Staffa Health

From 31st March 2016 GP practices in England are required to provide all patients with a named GP who is responsible for patients’ overall care at the practice. Your named GP will be recorded on our patient administration system. This does not prevent you from seeing any GP in the practice and you should continue to book appointments with the clinician of your choice. You do not need to take any further action, but if you have any questions, or wish to discuss this further with us, please contact us at the surgery. If you wish to know who your named GP or you have a preference as to which GP it is, please let us know. We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate this request.

An appointment is needed for most of our services. Trained receptionists at each surgery will guide you to the right service in complete confidence. It is helpful if you can give as much information as possible when booking an appointment as this allows staff to discuss the available alternatives with you, and to ensure that you get the best care. We try to offer the length of consultation that suits each individual circumstance. To enable us to do this we rely on patients to make their needs clearly known to us.

Extended Opening Hours

We have extended opening times to 8pm on a Tuesday and Thursday evening and also Saturday morning. These extra services are for pre-booked non urgent doctor appointments only. Our aim is to improve access for people who cannot come to surgery in regular working hours.

Visiting at Home

We conform to the national policy on home visits, which is to offer this service only for those who are too unwell to come to surgery. Generally speaking, the home environment is less suitable than the surgery for carrying out examination and diagnosis. For this reason, the doctor will decide whether telephone advice, attendance at surgery or a home visit is the best course of action. A similar policy applies to the out of hours service.
